Role Overview

As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing test cases across multiple platforms, ensuring that applications meet business requirements and technical quality standards. You will work on functional, regression, integration, performance, and code-level testing, collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web, mobile, and API applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, system, and UAT testing.
  • Write and maintain automation scripts using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
  • Conduct API testing (using Postman, REST Assured, etc.).
  • Perform code-level testing / unit testing support in collaboration with developers.
  • Execute performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or Locust.
  • Ensure thorough bug reporting, tracking, and closure using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a CI/CD integrated test automation framework.
  • Work with developers to perform white-box testing when needed.
  • Ensure testing covers cross-browser, cross-platform, and responsive validation.

Collaborate with business and product teams to validate requirements and acceptance criteria.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in software testing (manual + automation).
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and different testing methodologies.
  • Experience with automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Experience in API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
  • Familiarity with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, Locust).
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on experience with bug tracking & test management tools (JIRA, Test Rail, etc.).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Good to Have

  • Exposure to security testing basics.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
  • ISTQB/other testing certification.
