Position Overview:

This role involves end-to-end ownership of complex incidents, advanced troubleshooting automation, architecture consulting and mentoring junior engineers, the ideal candidate will also play key role in system design, migrations, performance optimization and driving reliability engineering initiatives.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Serve as the highest point of technical escalation L3 for linux OS incidents and problems
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA), diagnostics and resolution of complex system-level issues
  • Maintain and optimize large-scale, mission-critical linux environments (RHEL CentOS, AWS Linux etc.)
  • Design and implement scalable and secure linux-based infrastructure across on-prem and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead OS lifecycle management, upgrade, patching, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Implement high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and backup strategies.
  • Automate routine operations using ansible or similar tool.
  • Ensure OS hardening, CIS benchmarks, and secure configurations.
  • Collaborate with infosec teams for compliance and audit support
  • Guide and mentor L1 & L2 engineers, create documentation, and knowledge base articles

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Bachelors in Computers Science, IT or related fields
  • 8 plus years hands on experience with linux system administration in enterprise environments
  • Solid understanding of networking, DNS, NFS, FIREWALL,VLAN, etc.)
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (vmware, nutanix etc.) and container
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and decision-making in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
