About the role

The Data Engineering team builds and optimizes systems spanning data ingestion, processing, storage optimization and more. We work closely with engineers and the product team to build highly scalable systems that tackle real-world data problems and provide our customers with accurate, real-time, fault tolerant solutions to their ever-growing data needs. We support various OLTP and analytics environments, including our Advanced Analytics and Digital Experience Management products.

As part of the Digital Experience Management team, you will work on state-of-the-art, cloud-scale distributed systems at the intersections of networking, cloud security and big data. You will be part of designing and building systems that provide critical infrastructure for global Fortune 100 companies.

What you will be doing

• Designing and implementing planet-scale distributed data platforms, services and frameworks including solutions to address high-volume and complex data collections, processing, transformations and analytical reporting
• Working with the application development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models
• Understanding and translating business requirements into data models supporting long-term solutions
• Analyzing data system integration challenges and proposing optimized solutions
• Researching effective data designs, new tools and methodologies for data analysis
• Providing guidance and expertise to other developers on the effective implementation of data models, and building high throughput data access services
• Providing technical leadership in all phases of a project, from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery.
• Building insight from the generated data and innovate solution for better customer experience

Required skills and experience

• 14+ years of experience designing and building highly scalable, distributed, and reliable systems in cloud-native environments.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, design, and lead complex technical solutions, with strong ownership from architecture to deployment.
• Hands-on experience developing large-scale data pipelines handling petabyte-scale data and billions of daily events, with strong understanding of streaming and batch data processing.
• Deep expertise in big data analytics frameworks and architectures — including data modeling, ingestion, transformation, and storage optimization.
• Strong algorithmic, data structure, and system design skills with proficiency in one or more of Python, Go, C++, or Rust.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and network security fundamentals, including TCP/IP, TLS, IPSec, GRE, PKI, and web performance monitoring concepts (latency, DNS, BGP, routing).
• Proficiency with open-source technologies such as Kafka, Redis, ClickHouse, Prometheus, Elastic, or similar systems.
• Experience designing and deploying applications on public cloud platforms (preferably GCP, with exposure to AWS).
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated experience driving system performance improvements, cost optimizations, and data reliability at scale.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams, mentor senior engineers, and establish best practices in system design, observability, and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including monitoring, alerting, incident management, and service availability metrics (SLIs/SLOs).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical topics clearly to diverse audiences.
• A mindset focused on customer experience, data quality, and end-to-end system observability to enhance the DEM product's reliability and insights.
• Bonus points for contributions to the open source community

Education

• BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
