Job Summary

The Interventional Cardiologist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing cardiovascular diseases with a special focus on catheter-based, minimally invasive procedures. The role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, managing critical cardiac patients, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional cardiology procedures, including, but not limited to, coronary angiography, angioplasty (PCI), stent placement, device implantation, and structural heart interventions.
  • Evaluate patients with complex cardiovascular conditions and provide evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Manage acute cardiac emergencies such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and heart failure.
  • Conduct pre- and post-procedural care, ensuring patient safety and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Interpret diagnostic investigations such as echocardiograms, ECGs, stress tests, and advanced imaging.
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in departmental teaching, academic activities, and training of junior doctors, residents, and fellows.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research, and innovation in cardiovascular care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with hospital policies, and adhere to medical ethics and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • DM (Cardiology) or equivalent recognized by the Medical Council of India (or respective governing body).
  • Valid medical registration/license to practice.
  • Minimum 0- 5 years of post-DM experience in interventional cardiology (fresh DM graduates may also apply).
  • Demonstrated expertise in performing independent interventional procedures.
  • Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and ability to work under pressure.
