Senior Video Editor

JOB OVERVIEW

At Framed Memoirs, we craft emotional wedding films that become legacy.

We're looking for a Senior Video Editor who can lead our
post-production team,
manage the full editing pipeline, and direct the creative vision of our wedding films.

This is a storytelling-first role
— ideal for editors who've worked with real, emotional wedding footage. You'll handle high-priority edits, mentor junior editors, oversee timelines, and elevate our visual style across all deliverables.

Important:
This is
not
a role for editors specialising in motion graphics, animation, explainer videos, or reels made with templates. We're looking for someone who can cut human emotion — not motion graphics.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Narrative editing and creative execution

• Craft signature edits — long-format wedding films, mini-episodes, trailers — with storytelling at the center.
• Collaborate with directors and cinematographers to lock mood, tone, and stylistic direction before edit begins.
• Take editorial calls on music, voiceovers, scene transitions, and emotional arcs of each film.

2.Creative Direction

• Define and evolve the visual and emotional style of Framed wedding films.
• Create references and edit outlines for junior editors to maintain narrative consistency.
• Set the creative tone across projects — guiding shot choices, audio layering, and stylistic nuances.
• Be the final eye on aesthetic choices, and continuously push the team's creative boundary.

3.Leadership and team oversight

• Lead and manage a team of in-house/freelance editors.
• Conduct weekly edit reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor junior editors and create training modules/SOPs for onboarding and skill development.

4.Post production Pipeline management

• Oversee footage handoff, backup protocols, project setup, and folder hygiene.
• Track progress of all ongoing projects and coordinate deadlines with project managers.
• Ensure seamless integration of video department with photo, design, and client servicing teams.

5.Quality Control

• Review all edits before delivery for storytelling strength, technical finesse, and emotional flow.
• Audit timelines for sync, pacing, transitions, color balance, and audio levels.
• Maintain Framed's benchmark of quality across every frame.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years editing cinematic wedding films or similar event-based documentary formats.
• Mastery over DaVinci Resolve; experienced with Fusion / After effects /
• Deep understanding of pacing, emotion, and structure in human-centric storytelling.
• Proven experience leading teams and mentoring other editors.
• Ability to creatively direct while keeping emotional intent at the forefront.
• Highly organized, deadline-driven, with strong visual aesthetic instincts.
