Sr. Electrical Supervisor

Job Description

The Sr. Supervisor – Electrical is responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities within the shipbuilding and construction environment. This role requires strong technical expertise in interpreting electrical drawings, managing on-board installations, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining operational efficiency. The position involves close collaboration with design, production, and subcontracting teams to deliver high-quality electrical systems within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical production drawings and identify or correct design discrepancies.
• Plan and supervise conduit and cable laying, installation, and termination activities on vessels.
• Oversee electrical system fit-up, connection, and onboard maintenance operations, including quarterly and urgent maintenance.
• Maintain and repair electrical tools, equipment, and switchboards within the yard.
• Collaborate with subcontractors for work execution and issue work completion certificates.
• Maintain accurate records of all vessel-related electrical works.
• Participate in production meetings to track progress and resolve technical or operational issues.
• Implement and monitor safety measures to prevent electrical hazards.
• Provide technical support to the R&D team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
• Conduct vessel feasibility studies and prepare project feasibility reports.
• Plan and prepare electrical workflow schedules to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Coordinate and mark electrical installation locations onboard vessels.

Key Requirements

• B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or industrial electrical supervision will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, cabling, and vessel installation standards.
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and ensure design accuracy.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Commitment to electrical safety and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with project tracking tools.

Work Location: Panavally, Cherthala, Alappuzha

Salary Range: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35, ₹40,000.00 per month
