About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Chemist to lead our laboratory and production quality functions in our pesticides and growth promoters manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Chemistry or Agriculture and hands-on experience in pesticide formulation, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the chemical analysis, formulation, and testing of pesticides and growth promoters.
  • Develop, monitor, and validate formulations as per regulatory and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with CIB & RC guidelines, BIS standards, and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes across raw materials, in process checks, and finished goods.
  • Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and optimize formulations for stability, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, SOPs, and safety protocols.
  • Guide and mentor the laboratory staff and ensure accurate documentation of test reports.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies, third-party labs, and auditors as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry / M.Sc. in Agriculture (mandatory).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a pesticides manufacturing unit (R&D, QC, or formulation).
  • Strong understanding of pesticide chemistry, formulation techniques, and agrochemical industry practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for pesticides and growth promoters.
  • Ability to manage laboratory operations and lead a small team.

Skills Required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, Spectrophotometers, etc.).
  • Good understanding of pesticide toxicology, stability studies, and environmental safety.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Leadership ability with a focus on precision and compliance.
