Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled
Production Engineer
to join our
Dry-Type Transformer
manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring the production process of dry-type transformers to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and process efficiency. This role requires hands-on experience with the
manufacturing of cast resin and VPI dry-type transformers
, along with a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution:

  • Execute daily production activities for dry-type transformer manufacturing, including:

  • Core stacking

  • Coil winding (HV and LV)
  • Varnishing or casting (VPI/epoxy resin)
  • Assembly and curing

  • Testing and inspection

  • Coordinate with planning and stores to ensure availability of materials and components.

  • Follow detailed production schedules and ensure adherence to timelines and specifications.

Process Monitoring & Improvement

  • Monitor production parameters such as cycle time, material usage, and yield.
  • Optimize processes for efficiency, cost, and quality through lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and deviations in the production process.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all transformers are manufactured as per IEC , IS standards, and internal quality norms.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and coordinate with the quality team to reduce rework and scrap.

  • Support routine tests and type tests such as:

  • Insulation resistance

  • Winding resistance
  • Ratio & polarity
  • Partial discharge
  • Temperature rise (if applicable)

Team Coordination & Safety

  • Work closely with technicians and operators to ensure proper work practices and discipline on the shop floor.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Support training programs for operators and new staff.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain daily production reports, downtime logs, and performance data.
  • Provide input for monthly MIS and KPIs like OEE, rejection rate, production volume, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO documentation and participate in internal audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a transformer manufacturing unit (preferably dry-type transformers).
  • Strong understanding of dry-type transformer processes (VPI, cast resin, epoxy casting).
  • Familiar with production tools, ERP systems, and basic quality tools (5S, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (IEC , IS

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with VPI and epoxy resin cast systems.
  • Familiarity with test bay operations and acceptance criteria.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, process sheets, and control plans.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
