Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced 
Server Engineer
 to manage, maintain, and optimize our on-premises and virtualized server environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both 
Windows and Linux servers
, with hands-on knowledge of 
virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox)
, patch management, troubleshooting, and data backup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain 
    Windows & Linux servers
     ensuring availability, security, and performance.
  • Administer and support 
    virtualization platforms
     such as 
    VMware and Proxmox
    .
  • Perform 
    periodic patch management
     across servers, ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Troubleshoot server-related issues including system errors, performance degradation, and access management.
  • Manage 
    user access and security permissions
     for server resources.
  • Plan and execute 
    backup and snapshot strategies
     for business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure adherence to organizational standards.
  • Monitor server health, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
  • Document server configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a 
    Server Engineer / Administrator
    .
  • Strong knowledge of 
    Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL)
     administration.
  • Hands-on experience with 
    VMware ESXi/ vCenter
     and 
    Proxmox VE
    .
  • Proficiency in 
    server patching, updates, and system hardening
    .
  • Knowledge of 
    backup solutions, snapshots, and disaster recovery practices
    .
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with 
    IIS, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory
     will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
