The Azure AI Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing AI-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role demands strong architectural thinking, deep hands-on expertise in the Azure AI ecosystem (including the AI Foundry stack), and advanced proficiency in Python. The architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable applications, develop APIs, ensure seamless deployment, and guide team members toward successful project delivery.The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with the ability to mentor teams, troubleshoot issues across the full stackfrom front end to backend—and ensure secure, resilient, and well-governed AI workloads on Azure.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Azure Expertise

  • Strong experience in Azure AI Foundry stack, including:

  • Azure OpenAI

  • Azure AI Search
  • AI Studio / Prompt Flow

  • Azure Machine Learning

  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture, networking, security, identity, and governance.

Programming & Backend Skills

  • Advanced Python skills for AI, automation, backend services, and ML workflows.
  • Experience building APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Familiarity with packaging, dependency management, and service optimization.

Application & Frontend

  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing apps with Azure App Services.
  • Strong API development and debugging ability.
  • Basic to intermediate frontend debugging skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser tools).

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Experience using Azure DevOps for pipelines, repositories, boards, and release management.
  • Knowledge of containers (Docker)

Team Leadership

  • Ability to lead and guide engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in task planning, sprint management, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) or Azure AI Engineer (AI-102) certification.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade AI governance, prompt engineering, vector search, or RAG patterns.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Azure Architecture

  • Design end-to-end AI solution architectures using the Azure AI Foundry stack (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Prompt Flow, AI Studio, etc.).
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance AI workloads leveraging Azure services such as Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, App Services, API Management, Azure Functions, and Event-Driven architectures.
  • Develop reusable architectural patterns, best practices, and standards for AI projects.

Application Development

  • Lead backend development using Python for AI pipelines, microservices, and automation flows.
  • Build and optimize REST APIs, integrations, and service layers on Azure App Services.
  • Collaborate with frontend teams to debug UI issues, improve performance, and ensure smooth API-UI interaction.

DevOps & Deployment

  • Establish CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps for automated testing, release, and deployment.
  • Manage infrastructure as code using ARM/Bicep/Terraform (optional but preferred).
  • Oversee monitoring, security, and operational excellence across deployed AI solutions.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, providing technical direction and code reviews.
  • Coordinate with product, data science, UI/UX, and cloud teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, estimations, and risks with stakeholders.
