Role Summary
We are looking for a manager with expertise in the credit risk area. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of credit risk portfolio management, reporting, risk frameworks, and policy formulation, including liquidity management. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our credit portfolio analysis processes and improving our assessment of risks emanating from the portfolio while helping build strong strategies to mitigate these risks.
Job Description
Credit Risk Portfolio Management:
Conduct in-depth analysis of the credit portfolio to assess quality based on various data dimensions.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Provide actionable insights through data analysis and reporting to inform business strategy and decision-making.
Preparation of Risk Reports:
Prepare and improve various portfolio risk reports on a regular basis and ensure continuous automation of these reports.
Preparation of Management and Board Reports:
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of key risk parameters for management and board meetings and suggest improvement areas.
Manage Risk and Policy Frameworks:
Develop, review, and update risk management frameworks and related policies on a regular basis. Enhance the organization's risk governance structure in line with internal policy and regulatory guidelines.
Support in Model Analytics:
Collaborate with the model analytics team in implementing and validating credit risk models and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Field Visits:
Visit various branch offices to review and suggest changes in credit-related processes to improve the quality of portfolio and underwriting. The expected travel time is 3–4 days in a quarter.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational Qualification
Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or economics.
Preferred Qualification
Experience with retail finance or microfinance institutions (MFI).
Proven 5–7 years of experience in the NBFC sector or financial services.
Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, credit scoring, and predictive modelling.
Working knowledge of developing and implementing decision trees and related analytical models for credit decisioning and portfolio segmentation.
Extensive experience with data management and business reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, Python, etc.
Key Competence & Skills
Familiarity with credit decision engines and business rule engines.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
Excellent understanding of risk frameworks and policy formulation.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Years of Experience
3–6 years of post-qualification experience for Assistant Manager.
5–8 years of post-qualification experience for Manager.
