The challenge
Search, Discovery, and Content AI (SDC) is a cornerstone of Adobe's search ecosystem, enabling creative professionals and everyday users to access, discover, and demonstrate a wide array of digital assets and creative content, including images, videos, documents, vector graphics and more. With increasing demand for intuitive search, contextual discovery, and seamless content interactions across Adobe products like Express, Lightroom, Adobe Stock, SDC is evolving into a generative AI powerhouse.
This team develops innovative solutions for intent understanding, personalized recommendations, and action orchestration to transform how users interact with content. Working with extensive datasets and pioneering technologies, you will help redefine the discovery experience and drive user success.

We're looking for a top-notch search engineering leadership in the area of information retrieval, search indexing, Elasticsearch, Lucene, algorithms, relevance & ranking, data mining, machine learning, data analysis & metrics, query processing, multi-lingual search, and search UX. Responsibilities 
- Work on data ingestion, search indexing, distributed systems, deep learning, recommendations, and performance by developing a search platform at Adobe that powers product lines such as Express, Creative Cloud, Acrobat, Marketing Cloud, and Stock.
- Apply machine learning techniques to enhance ranking and recommendations within search workflows.
- Build platforms to index billions of images, documents, and other assets in real time.
- Maintain and optimize the search engine, identify new opportunities for improvement, and develop new features.
- Benchmark possible solutions in terms of search relevance, recommendations, user experience, performance, and feasibility.
- Build and maintain these systems using technologies such as Elastic Search, RESTful web services, SQS/Kafka, and machine learning frameworks.

What You Need to Succeed 
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Hands-on experience with Java (mandatory); Python experience is a plus.
- Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
- Familiarity with search engine technology and inverted indexes.
- Experience in building data processing or indexing pipelines.
- Exposure to Apache Kafka, Storm, or Spark.
- Experience with AWS services.
- Knowledge of web services and REST API design and architecture.
- Proficiency in RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in developing SaaS-based software solutions.
