The incumbent should be a Graduate in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering / M.Sc Chemistry / MBA in Material Management with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Procurement and Material Management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Candidates must have worked in the chemical, specialty chemical, or process industries.

Job Description:

Position Overview

Lead the procurement function by developing and executing sourcing strategies for raw materials, chemicals, consumables, and services to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and uninterrupted production fully aligned with company goals, regulatory standards, and sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories including raw materials, solvents, catalysts, packaging, and engineering supplies.

Monitor global and domestic chemical markets to anticipate pricing trends, availability, and supply risks.

Vendor & Contract Management:

Identify, assess, and develop domestic and international suppliers.

Lead negotiations and manage long-term agreements ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.

Ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, and other relevant regulatory guidelines in procurement contracts.

Cost Optimization & Budgeting:

Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process improvements.

Prepare and monitor procurement budgets; ensure adherence to financial targets and cost-saving goals.

Inventory & Supply Assurance:

Collaborate with production and planning teams to maintain optimum stock levels while minimizing working capital.

Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production disruptions and achieve inventory turnover targets.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team.

Drive digitalization and automation of procurement processes using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal, environmental, and company compliance standards.

Identify risks in the supply chain and implement contingency and mitigation plans.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Supply Chain; MBA preferred.

Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical/process/manufacturing industry.

Familiarity with global sourcing, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.

Strong negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
