Job Title: CAD Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Engineer with over 5 years of experience in sheetmetal design, specifically in the areas of body, closures, and hoods. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in CATIA V5 and automotive GD&T, with a strong understanding of stamping, forming, and material behavior including high-strength steels, advanced high-strength steels, and aluminum. Proficiency in tolerance analysis, assembly fit, and collaboration with manufacturing teams is essential. Experience in welding and joining methods for ensuring structural integrity, as well as proficiency with Teamcenter PLM and Vismockup, is required. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sheetmetal components for body, closures, and hoods.
  • Utilize CATIA V5 for creating detailed design models and drawings.
  • Apply expertise in automotive GD&T to ensure precise component specifications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize stamping and forming processes.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure proper assembly fit of components.
  • Engage in problem-solving to address design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Work with Teamcenter PLM and Vismockup for product lifecycle management.
  • Implement welding and joining techniques to maintain structural integrity.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in sheetmetal design for body, closures, and hoods.
  • Expertise in CATIA V5 and automotive GD&T.
  • Strong knowledge of stamping, forming, and material behavior (HSS, AHSS, aluminum).
  • Proficiency in tolerance analysis, assembly fit, and manufacturing collaboration.
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM and Vismockup.
  • Familiarity with welding and joining methods for structural integrity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Work Environment

The role requires working in a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced CAD technologies such as CATIA V5 and Teamcenter PLM. The work focuses on designing and developing sheetmetal components, requiring meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and efficiency.
