The Engineer will be responsible for delivering on projects related to ventilation system of Diesel Electric & Battery Electric locomotives and selecting system components including blowers, bellows, filters, ducting etc. Establishing air flow, thermal and mechanical requirements for the ventilation system and interfacing with suppliers for respective development. Conduct air flow, thermal and mechanical analysis of the ventilation system with support from other team members. Conduct tests on locomotives at manufacturing plant, supplier / customer location. Shall also be required to take the design through design review process and own release of drawings to support manufacturing, support shop issues, supplier issues and field issues related to ventilation system and components.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor of Science / Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles
• Understanding of materials science, including the properties and behavior of materials used in Ventilation system.

What will be your key responsibilities?
In this role the engineer will work with experienced engineers to execute projects, including design, selection, air flow and thermal analysis, validation, production launch of Ventilation system. Work collaboratively with team members to develop a world class product. Support manufacturing and supply chain to achieve high levels of manufacturability and manage drawing and model updates to address issues or implement improvements.
