Job Description:

As a MySQL Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of MySQL databases. Your expertise in query writing, database design, and performance tuning will be crucial to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of our systems. The role requires someone who thrives in problem-solving and has the ability to work under pressure to support a variety of internal and client-facing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration: Install, configure, and manage MySQL databases across development, staging, and production environments.
• Query Optimization: Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance applications and analytics. Troubleshoot and optimize slow queries.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement, monitor, and maintain database backups, ensuring proper recovery and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
• Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor database performance and make adjustments (e.g., index optimization, query refactoring) to enhance performance and scalability.
• Security: Implement and maintain database security protocols, including user access control, encryption, and data privacy practices.
• Replication and High Availability: Set up, monitor, and maintain replication setups (master-slave, master-master), ensuring database high availability.
• Database Design: Assist in database schema design and modifications, ensuring data integrity and normalization.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues, including connectivity problems, deadlocks, data corruption, and performance bottlenecks.
• Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks like backups, data migration, and database health checks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, systems engineers, and other teams to ensure smooth database integration and support application development.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator.
• Database Skills: In-depth experience with MySQL 5.x and 8.x, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Query Writing: Advanced SQL query writing skills, including experience with complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization techniques.
• Backup & Recovery: Experience with MySQL backup strategies (mysqldump, Percona XtraBackup, etc.) and point-in-time recovery.
• Performance Tuning: Strong knowledge of database performance tuning techniques (indexing, query optimization, slow query logs, etc.).
• Replication: Hands-on experience with MySQL replication (master-slave, master-master) and clustering solutions.
• Scripting: Proficient in shell scripting, Python, or other automation tools.
• Security: Familiarity with MySQL security best practices, including user roles, access control, and encryption techniques.
• Tools & Technologies: Experience with MySQL management tools (e.g., MySQL Workbench, Percona Toolkit, etc.).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Pay: Up to ₹950,000.05 per year
