- Cook a variety of dishes: Prepare dishes like dim sum, noodles, soups, and stir-fries using methods such as boiling, steaming, grilling, and deep-frying.
- Follow recipes: Cook food according to established recipes and instructions from senior chefs.
- Ensure quality: Continuously monitor food while cooking, tasting for doneness and adjusting seasoning as needed.
Kitchen management and operations
- Maintain hygiene and safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, keep the work area clean and organized, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Manage inventory: Monitor stock levels, inform supervisors of shortages, and properly store unused food.
- Set up workstations: Ensure workstations are properly equipped with all necessary ingredients and tools before starting.
- Supervise staff: Assist in supervising and delegating tasks to kitchen assistants or other junior staff.
