Position: Quality Engineer

Department: Quality Assurance / Operations

Location: Bangalore

Reporting to: Quality Head / Operations Manager

Company: Elevators Company in Bangalore

Role Summary:

Our client (An Elevator/Lift Company) is looking for a detail-oriented and process-driven Quality Engineer to ensure that our elevator products and installation services meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quality planning, inspection, audits, and root cause analysis throughout the manufacturing and installation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify incoming materials, in-process components, and final elevator assemblies for quality compliance.
  • Monitor quality metrics across production, installation, and service teams to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with IS/EN standards and company-defined quality procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality of procured components and systems.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain records for audits and traceability.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external quality and safety audits (ISO, etc.).
  • Train and guide teams on quality control tools and best practices.
  • Actively participate in design and product reviews for quality risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in products and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control, preferably in the elevator or allied mechanical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools: 7 QC Tools, FMEA, 5 Why, Control Plans, etc.
  • Familiarity with elevator codes and safety norms (EN81, IS 14665, etc.).
  • Experience with inspection tools: Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Gauges, etc.
  • Proficiency in documentation, report writing, and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification.
  • Experience with elevator testing and commissioning.
