Senior Automation Test Engineer

At Ajira Software, we focus on developing smart products that leverage artificial intelligence algorithms. We build complex cloud based and mobile business applications and we solve very significant business problems along the way. Our products work across our customers' ecosystems to help people.

We're very pleased to be expanding our product development team. We're a close-knit group of innovators that have previously launched very successful companies. We are looking to add a Senior Automation Test Engineer to our team in Pune.

You have solid recent experience with QA automation using Selenium to automate testing of web applications that use front-end frameworks such as Angular/Vue/React. Experience performing stress and load testing using JMeter is required. Hands-on experience with POSTMAN and APPIUM is desirable. Fundamental knowledge of SQL is required. Any experience with NodeJS is welcome. You are the kind of Automation Engineer that others seek out to solve their technical difficulties. You keep up to date with what's happening in the QA automation world and know the level of reliability that regression testing provides to a business application and you are able to make suggestions to improve on it further. You know the limitations of Selenium and you are motivated to learn new technologies. You are committed to quality, set high standards for yourself and pay attention to detail.

While we're headquartered in the Chicago area in Oak Brook, our software labs are in Pune, India. We have decades of experience working with remote team members. We're looking to expand our team in Pune, India.

Your work environment:

We are a group of talented and dedicated individuals and though we are a software company, we have a 'no insane hours' rule.

We are not clock watchers. If you need to take off for a couple of hours to visit the doctor or dentist go ahead. We look at what you're accomplishing, not how many hours you spend logged into your computer or in the office. We conduct meetings on a daily basis with our Chicago office so some overlapping hours are necessary.

Our work is performed using the latest technology and tools. We're constantly innovating and improving our delivery capability by building our own components and tools as well as licensing new tech that we've tried and that works in our environment.

Your skills:

You keep up with technology changes and trends.

You are a top notch Automation Test Engineer whose code not only automates complex workflows but is written in such a way that the rest of your team is able to understand. This means that you're not shy about documenting your Selenium code and you understand the need for coding standards and why everyone should use them.

You are experienced in developing JMeter scripts.

You are motivated. You have excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills and enjoy identifying bugs.

You are skilled with developing Selenium test automation scripts on a minimum of one of Angular/React/Vue web application environments.

You are familiar with manual testing. Even though you are a Automation Test Engineer you have developed functional tests, their acceptance criteria as well as test data required for manual testing in the past. You have either developed or partially developed a testing framework from scratch.

You understand regression testing thoroughly and are familiar with developing test strategies to make a web application bullet-proof. You track QA metrics out of habit.

You have developed and automated functional tests using Selenium for complex web based business applications in a work setting for at least 2 years.

You possess a good understanding of the fundamentals of SQL.

You are able to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

You are committed to quality, set high standards for yourself and pay attention to detail.

You have good communication skills, both verbal and written.

NodeJS experience is a plus but not necessary.
