Chief of Staff to the Managing Director

Location:
 Bangalore (with travel across company locations)

Experience:
 10+ years (including 5–7 years as Chief of Staff)

Industry Exposure:
 Multi-industry/consulting background preferred

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Support & Business Execution

  • Act as a thought partner to the MD—supporting strategic planning, governance, and business reviews
  • Translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans; track KPIs and progress dashboards
  • Drive execution discipline across functions and entities, ensuring timely outcomes
  • Prepare business insights, board briefs, and internal/external communication for the MD

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise closely with senior leadership, group companies, and subsidiary heads
  • Represent the MD in meetings and key forums where required
  • Build strong relationships across the organization while maintaining neutrality and discretion
  • Support change-management initiatives and cultural alignment across the group

Operational Excellence

  • Spend time across shop floors, service centres, dealerships, digital business units to drive alignment and gain operational understanding
  • Bring discipline to processes, reviews, cadence, and leadership communication
  • Identify improvement areas across the business and help institutionalise best practices

Must-Have Experience

  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5–7 years in a Chief of Staff role
  • Consulting background (Big 4, strategy consulting firms, or boutique advisory)
  • Multi-industry experience—exposure to manufacturing/automotive advantageous
  • Track record of working with senior leaders/CXO-level stakeholders

Education

  • Engineering degree + MBA from a reputed institution

  • High emotional intelligence, maturity, and patience—ability to influence without authority
  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to spend time across business environments (factory, retail floors, corporate office, etc.)
  • Analytical and structured thinker; strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to travel and manage diverse business stakeholders
  • Professional discretion, humility, and a grounded approach
