Role & responsibilities
1. Production Planning and Control:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and procurement departments to align production schedules with demand.
- Determine material and manpower requirements to meet production targets.
- Prioritize production orders to ensure timely delivery and cost optimization.
- Plan batch processing operations, including dyeing, printing, finishing, and other processing steps.
- Need to follow up on RFT%.
- OTIF (On Time In Full)
2. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and track raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods to ensure an uninterrupted production process.
- Work closely with the departments to ensure timely procurement of materials based on the production plan.
- Ensure the availability of necessary chemicals, dyes, and other materials required for processing.
3. Resource Optimization:
- Optimize machine utilization and labor productivity.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule preventive maintenance without disrupting production schedules.
- Analyze plant layout and workflows to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
4. Quality Control:
- Ensure that the production process and products processed meet the required safety regulations and quality standards respectively.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control department to address any issues related to defects or deviations.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on quality findings.
5. Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate production records, including inventory reports, production logs, and quality control data.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to senior management regarding production performance, order status, and inventory levels to analyze production efficiency.
- Assist in forecasting production needs and budgeting for future periods.
6. Coordination and Communication:
- Act as the central point of contact between production, marketing, procurement, and logistics teams.
- Communicate regularly with the production floor to track the progress of ongoing orders and resolve any issues promptly.
- Organize regular meetings with the production team to discuss issues and streamline operations.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in the production process using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Evaluate production performance and suggest improvements in workflows, resource allocation, and machine efficiency.
8. Customer Focus:
- Ensure that customer orders are processed on time and meet the required specifications.
- Address any customer complaints or concerns related to delivery schedules or product quality.
9. Cost Control:
- Assist in managing production costs by ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Monitor and reduce waste, downtime, and inefficiencies in the production process.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering or a related field.
- 7 - 10 years of experience in production planning and control, preferably in the textile industry, particularly in fabric processing, dyeing, or finishing.
- Having experience in 100% Polyester filament fabrics processing unit.
- Familiarity with ERP software (such as SAP, Oracle, etc) is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and resource optimization.
- Clarity about utilities services and effluent treatment.
- Strong understanding of production processes in the textile industry, especially in fabric processing and finishing.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve production-related challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
