Key Responsibilities:

  1. NDT Inspection

  2. Inspect complete blades and specific parts such as shearwebs, girders, root inserts, and bondlines.

  3. Conduct inspections for ongoing Root Cause Analyses (RCA) both on the ground and uptower.
  4. Perform test blade inspections at BTCG and provide feedback to R&D Hengelo.
  5. Inspect carbon main girders and blade bondlines.
  6. Expected Outcome: Generate reports for inspected data and analysis.
  7. Performance Measures:

  8. Scan reports and identification of defects.

  9. Consistency of scans.
  10. Accuracy.

  11. Supporting Technology Projects

  12. Gelcoating of blades to identify the intensity, size, and depth of below-surface defects.

  13. Determine paste gap within tolerance checks for one-go blade closure.

  14. Management Information System (MIS)

  15. Timely publishing of the MIS.

Accountabilities:

  • Carry out NDT-UT inspections at the factory.
  • Prepare NDT-UT analysis reports.

Prior Exposure and Familiarity:

  • Exposure to NDT areas.
  • Experience working with composites.
  • ASNT Level 2 certification for NDT-UT from a reputed organization.
  • Hands-on experience (2-3 years) handling NDT-UT equipment for composite or carbon materials.
  • Experience with different NDT-UT equipment and techniques, and interpretation of NDT-UT images.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Educational Qualifications: Graduate Engineer in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized engineering college or equivalent.
  • Soft Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and NDT-related software.
  • Special Certification Course: ASNT Level 2 certification for NDT-UT from a reputed organization.
  • Relevant Experience: 2+ years of experience in NDT of composites (glass and/or carbon) in industries such as wind, aerospace, shipbuilding, or automotive.
  • Total Experience: 2 to 3 years.
