Job Title: Radiotherapy Technologist

Department: Radiation Oncology

Job Summary:

The Radiotherapy Technologist is responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist. This role requires a thorough understanding of radiation therapy procedures, patient care, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and Position patients for Radiation therapy treatments.
• Operate radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and simulators.
• Ensure accurate delivery of prescribed radiation doses.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the radiation oncologist.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures for radiation equipment.
• Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and answer any questions.
• Stay updated on advancements in radiotherapy technology and techniques.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Accuracy of Treatment Delivery: Ensures treatment is delivered accurately as per the prescribed plan.
• Compliance with Safety Protocols: Monitor adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• Documentation Accuracy: Evaluate the completeness and accuracy of patient records and treatment documentation.
• Team Collaboration: Assess the effectiveness of collaboration with colleagues regarding teamwork and communication.

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Radiotherapy Technology or Diploma in Radiotherapy Technology.

Skills:

• Attention to detail in patient care and treatment administration.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and treatment protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using computer systems for patient management and treatment planning.
