As a Specialist supporting our total rewards team in India, you'll serve as an expert in payroll and benefits and ensure operational excellence, compliance, and a seamless employee experience for both. You will manage third-party vendors, oversee statutory and non-statutory benefits, and ensure alignment with Our Client's home office policies while maintaining local accountability.
This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is passionate about building scalable, compliant, and employee-centric processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees monthly payroll and absence processing, reconciliations, and statutory filings in partnership with our payroll and absence vendor.
- Ensures timely and accurate disbursement of salaries, reimbursements, statutory payments, and administration of absence records (e.g., leave, time-off) in compliance with local labor laws.
- Administers statutory benefits (e.g., Provident Fund, Employers' State Insurance, gratuity, maternity) and oversees delivery of non-statutory programs (e.g., insurance, wellness) in partnership with a benefits vendor.
- ·Collaborates with vendor to monitor and administer time-off and leave records, ensuring compliance with company policies and Indian labor regulations.
- Maintains documentation, including standard operating procedures, continuity plans, and supports internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Partners with Finance for general ledger reconciliation and reporting, and provides data, reports, and insights on payroll, absence, and benefits trends to support decision-making.
- Serves as the primary liaison with third-party administrators and vendors to ensure service quality, data privacy compliance, and adherence to service level agreements.
- Responds to escalated inquiries related to pay, absence, and benefits, coordinating resolution with vendors and communicating changes to programs and policies in partnership with the third-party vendor and internal stakeholders.
- Monitors regulatory changes and ensures payroll, absence, and benefits programs remain compliant with India's labor laws, partnering with local HR and U.S.-based teams to align practices, strategies, and events.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification Criteria
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance or related field.
Experience:
- Demonstrated 8–12 years of hands-on experience in payroll, absence, and benefits administration or operations in India.
- Proven experience managing vendor partners or third-party administrators and other statutory/non-statutory benefit providers in a multinational environment.
- Strong experience working on Workday and all Microsoft Office tools
- Project management concepts and techniques.
- Able to analyze business problems, define relevant issues, define alternatives, and develop recommendations and solutions through data analysis.
- Demonstrated process improvement skills.
