Linux System Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux System Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system administration, scripting, automation, security practices, and performance tuning in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.)
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and kernel upgrades.
- Manage services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, FTP, SSH, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Configure and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Proxmox, etc.)
- Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, and other IT staff to support infrastructure needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience managing high-availability and disaster recovery setups.
- Certifications: RHCE, LFCS, CompTIA Linux+, AWS SysOps, etc.
- Knowledge of database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) on Linux systems.
