Role Description:Working as part of the Redfaire Technical Delivery team, this role will provide primary database (Oracle and SQL Server) and infrastructure support, ensuring customer systems (hosted in cloud and on-premise) are protected and healthy. In addition to providing on-going database administration and housekeeping, the role also requires competence in virtualisation and cloud technology, including but not limited to provisioning new server infrastructure and allocating compute resources, namely disk, memory and CPU. You will be conversant in Microsoft and Linux operating systems.

The role will also include the execution of production and non-production database table updates and data refreshes and will often require you to work with and support your colleagues in the development of these requests. The candidate should have excellent verbal & written communication skills in English & proven analytical and problem-solving skills in a complex technical environment. The candidate will also need the ability to work with a mix of remote and office-based resources.

Responsibilities:Work with the Delivery Team to;Onboard new customers

Implement service improvement plans

Liaise with consultants and other internal departments including the CNC, functional support and development teams

Develop Industry Knowledge: keeping the team abreast of current trends and technologies and sourcing training where necessary

Ensure customer systems are protected by;Applying recommended security patches

Ensuring Backup and Recovery scripts are in place and working

Forecast logical and physical space and processing demands.Ensure ISO27001/GDPR compliance

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:Relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent. At least 5 years' experience of working in a senior technical database administration role. Expert Linux knowledge.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Oracle Observability & Management knowledge beneficial. Systematic approach to problem resolution. Ability to work independently under one's own initiative whilst being part of a team.

Ability to work under pressure, take leadership & to prioritize workloads. Recognize the importance of customer service and strive to deliver high standards. Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Expert knowledge of Oracle database technologies including; Oracle Standard Edition and Oracle Enterprise EditionInstallation and upgradesRMAN backup and recoveryDataGuardRACOCI shapes (ATP, Exadata, etc)Very good knowledge of MS SQL database technologies. Golden Gate knowledge of Oracle ERP systems in general would be desirable but not essential.
