- Audience Development: Implement strategies to increase subscriber growth, video views, and overall channel performance. Ensure that each video reaches its maximum potential.
- YouTube Analytics Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze video performance through YouTube Analytics. Track metrics such as views, watch time, click-through rates (CTR), audience retention, and engagement to refine strategies.
- Thumbnail Creation and Optimization: Collaborate with the design team to create attention-grabbing, click-worthy thumbnails that align with YouTube's best practices.
- Engagement Strategy: Foster community engagement by responding to comments, facilitating discussions, and encouraging audience interaction. Promote videos across social media platforms to drive traffic to YouTube.
- Content Optimization: Work with the editorial and production teams to optimize video content (titles, descriptions, etc.) in line with trending topics and search queries. Develop a content calendar based on keyword research and audience interest.
- YouTube Channel Management: Oversee the content schedule for the YouTube channel, ensuring consistent uploads, playlist creation, and optimization for better discoverability.
- Monetization Strategies: Collaborate with the monetization team to implement strategies for ad revenue, sponsorships, and other revenue streams through YouTube.
- A/B Testing: Perform regular A/B testing on titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails to identify what works best for the channels audience.
- Stay Updated on YouTube Trends: Keep up to date with YouTube algorithm changes, trends, and best practices to ensure the channel remains competitive and relevant.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of News Media: Knowledge of news trends and the ability to adapt content to current affairs, audience interests, and platform algorithms.
- Experience with Video Editing Software: Basic knowledge of video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus for understanding content needs and collaborating with editors.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with YouTube Studio, TubeBuddy, VidIQ, Google Analytics, and other digital tools.
- Experience with Monetization: Familiarity with YouTube monetization strategies, including ad revenue, super chats, memberships, and YouTube Partner Program.
- Behavioral: Collaboration: Work closely with journalists, reporters, editors, and other content creators to align video content with the overall editorial strategy and news coverage.
- Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
