About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Accountant
to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and ATO regulations. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), IAS, and payroll tax returns in line with ATO requirements.
  • Manage payroll processing, including superannuation and PAYG calculations.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (AASB) and company policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for better financial efficiency and accuracy.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance (CPA/CA qualification desirable).
  • Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within an Australian business environment.
  • Sound knowledge of
    Australian tax laws, BAS, IAS, and GST requirements
    .
  • Experience with accounting software such as
    Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or Reckon
    .
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
