Role Overview

We're seeking a talented Frontend Developer to work on our 14 application, Build and ship UX for Unimad features. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining user-facing features while collaborating closely with the backend team. This role requires someone who can quickly adapt to new libraries, understand complex editor frameworks, and occasionally work with backend APIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain features using App Router, React and TypeScript
  • Create responsive, accessible interfaces using Tailwind CSS and Shadcn components
  • Work with rich editors (BlockNote/Tiptap): extend blocks/menus/plugins; handle drag‑and‑drop with dnd‑kit.
  • Implement and work with rich editors such as Tiptap, BlockNote; extend menus, blocks, plugins; handle drag-and-drop (dnd-kit).
  • Manage state with Zustand and TanStack React Query.
  • Quickly learn, implement, and potentially fork/customise third-party libraries to develop new features.
  • Handle assets and PDFs (react-pdf/renderer, viewer); MDX content surfaces.
  • Integrate with Django DRF APIs and shape requests with Axios/React Query.
  • Occasionally, work on building DRF endpoints and collaborate with Backend developers.

Must have

  • Solid React experience (1–3 years) and strong JavaScript fundamentals; TypeScript familiarity
  • Strong proficiency in 14/15 (App Router, server components)
  • Proficiency with React Query, Zustand, Tailwind CSS
  • Basic Python and Django literacy
  • Proficiency with Git workflows and collaborative development

Nice to have

  • Tiptap/ProseMirror or BlockNote experience.
  • Knowledge of drag-and-drop implementations (like dnd-kit)
  • React PDF or PDF rendering experience.
  • SEO/MDX content, performance profiling (Lighthouse, CLS).
  • Framer Motion or similar animation libraries.
  • Understanding of Django REST Framework basics, models, views and Serializers
