Job Summary:

The Dental Technician is responsible for providing technical support in the preparation, construction, and maintenance of dental appliances, prosthetics, models, and other laboratory work required for academic, clinical, and research purposes in the dental college. The role involves working closely with faculty, postgraduate students, interns, and clinicians to ensure high-quality laboratory support for patient care and student training.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate dental prostheses including crowns, bridges, dentures, orthodontic appliances, and implant-supported devices as per faculty/clinician instructions.

Prepare study models, diagnostic casts, and wax-ups for teaching and clinical use.

Assist students in understanding dental materials, laboratory techniques, and use of dental equipment.

Maintain and operate dental laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, sterilization, and cleanliness.

Support faculty in conducting practical sessions, demonstrations, and workshops for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Ensure accurate record keeping of laboratory work orders and maintain proper documentation.

Carry out repairs and adjustments of prostheses and appliances when required.

Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols in the laboratory.

Assist in research projects and innovations in dental material sciences and prosthodontic techniques.

Coordinate with clinicians and academic staff for smooth delivery of laboratory services.
