Lead the transformation of Airtel Moneys core wallet platform, driving modernization, scalability, and compliance. Collaborate with engineering and business teams to define clear actionable capabilities to be migrated with minimal impact across customer, agent, and merchant segments. Ensure the platform evolves into a robust, ledger-grade system supporting high transaction volumes and complex financial products and maintains a leadership position within the region.

  • Work with Engineering and Architecture across Front end, Back end and Data teams, driving the development of innovative solutions that enhance financial integrity, revenue optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage deep domain expertise in wallet platforms, core/mobile banking platforms combined with a strong technical background, to define product requirements, guide development teams, and ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.

Role & responsibilities

  • Partner with Business and Engineering teams to identify business challenges and translate them into technical product requirements in line with product roadmap.
  • Own the product roadmap as a product owner from the technology function and drive solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Define and document business processes, workflows, and data models to support financial operations and assurance mechanisms.
  • Conduct gap analysis, root cause investigations, and impact assessments for managing operational discrepancies in current environments.
  • Ensure platform scalability, security, and regulatory compliance across markets.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to regulatory and compliance standards relevant to financial operations.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming) and ensure timely delivery of product features.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and manage external partnerships to support product delivery and innovation.

Preferred candidate profile

  • BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of financial systems, digital wallets, ledger systems, transaction lifecycle and fintech operations.

  • Technical proficiency in APIs, microservices, and cloud-native platforms.

  • Proven leadership experience in working with Agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

  • 10+ years of experience in a technical product owner or business analyst role within fintech, telecom, or financial services.

  • Proven track record of delivering technology solutions in fintech, payment gateway or wallet platform domains.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including finance, engineering, and compliance.

  • Knowledge of Functional Analytics (Fintech/Mobile wallet industry)

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities

  • Individual must be organized, dependable, able to multi-task and manage priorities, display initiative, and must have the ability to lead teams in a demanding, fast-paced environment
