Job Title: Payment Business Analyst / Product Owner

Experience Level: 815+ years

Industry: IT Services & Consulting, Banking & Financial Services

Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate: BE / BTech
  • Postgraduate: MBA (Finance) / M.Com

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Management

  • Gather and analyze business requirements; create BRDs, FSDs, user stories, and user journeys.
  • Align specifications with ISO 20022, SWIFT, RTP, ACH standards.

Solution Design & Validation

  • Lead solution design and define end-to-end process flows.
  • Validate payment flows and integration points.
  • Contribute to architecture from a business process perspective.

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Collaborate with QA and Product teams for testing and go-live readiness.
  • Support Product Managers and Feature Teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Define business acceptance criteria and manage backlog/user stories.
  • Track milestones and participate in agile ceremonies.

Domain Expertise & Consultation

  • Provide expertise in clearing systems and regulatory workflows.
  • Liaise with vendors and IT teams to validate solutions.
  • Act as the primary contact for payment transformation requirements.

Change Management & Support

  • Lead training and change management for middle/back-office teams.
  • Ensure business readiness for production rollout.
  • Provide production support and incident resolution.

Key Skills & Experience

Industry Experience

  • 8–10+ years in Banking & Financial Services.
  • Hands-on experience with Payments and Cash Management products.

Payment Domain Knowledge

  • Expertise in UPI, QR, Cards, Wallets, APIs, and traditional banking systems.
  • Experience with domestic and cross-border payment rails.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong BRD/FSD documentation skills.
  • Proficient in ISO 20022, SEPA (SCT, SDD), SWIFT (Cross Border).
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end payments processing.

Project & Process Acumen

  • Experience with RFP/RFI processes.
  • Agile methodology expertise; user story creation and agile ceremonies.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Collaborative team player across business, IT, QA, and product teams.

Technical Competency

  • Payment Standards: ISO 20022, SWIFT, RTGS, CBPR, RTP, ACH
  • Technologies: UPI, QR, Mobile Wallets, APIs
  • Payment Engines: FIS Clear2Pay, BANCS, TEMENOS T24, FlexCube, Intellect Design FCH, Global PayPlus
  • Tools: Jira, Confluence, BRD/FSD documentation
  • System Knowledge: Integration points, data flows, technical validation
