Job Summary:

The Typist is responsible for accurate and timely typing of medical reports, discharge summaries, correspondence, official documents, and other hospital-related records. The role requires speed, accuracy, confidentiality, and coordination with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Type medical documents such as discharge summaries, case sheets, patient records, and investigation reports.
  • Prepare and maintain official hospital correspondence, memos, and circulars.
  • Ensure accuracy, grammar, and formatting in all typed documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital records.
  • Assist departments with typing-related tasks on priority.
  • File, store, and retrieve typed documents as required.
  • Support medical records department in organizing and updating files.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Qualification: Minimum 12th pass / Graduate with typing skills.
  • Typing Speed: Minimum 40–50 words per minute with high accuracy.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and hospital software (if applicable).
  • Language: Must be fluent in English and Tamil (typing knowledge of both preferred).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Prior experience in hospital/medical field preferred but not mandatory.

Working Conditions:

  • Based in hospital premises.
  • Requires handling of confidential and sensitive information.
  • May need to coordinate across multiple departments.
