Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled ThinManager Specialist with hands-on experience in Rockwell Automation ThinManager, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, and Thin Client environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining ThinManager environments, ensuring reliable operations of industrial applications, HMIs, and plant floor systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and administer Rockwell Automation ThinManager servers.
  • Configure and manage Thin Clients (HP, Dell, or equivalent) for industrial automation environments.
  • Deploy and maintain FactoryTalk View SE/ME applications within ThinManager.
  • Set up and manage terminal services, RDP sessions, AppLink, MultiSession, and SmartSession in ThinManager.
  • Configure and maintain user sessions, redundancy, failover, and licensing.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Thin Clients, FactoryTalk applications, RDP connections, and server communication.
  • Integrate ThinManager with Active Directory, Rockwell FactoryTalk Directory, and security policies.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability, redundancy, and reliability.
  • Work with VMware/Hyper-V environments for ThinManager and FactoryTalk system deployment.
  • Provide technical documentation, user training, and support for plant operations teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Rockwell Automation ThinManager v13/v14 (or later).
  • Hands-on knowledge of FactoryTalk View SE/ME, FactoryTalk Directory, and FactoryTalk Activation.
  • Experience with Thin Clients (HP, Dell Wyse, or equivalent) in manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), RDP, and Remote Desktop Services.
  • Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS) for ThinManager and Thin Clients.
  • Experience in VMware ESXi / Hyper-V for hosting FactoryTalk and ThinManager servers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for automation IT/OT systems.
  • Understanding of redundant system architectures (ThinManager Redundancy, FactoryTalk Redundancy).
  • Ability to collaborate with controls engineers, IT teams, and plant operators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rockwell Automation certifications (ThinManager, FactoryTalk).
  • Experience in industrial automation, SCADA/HMI systems, and OT cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Active Directory, and domain management.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) integration with HMIs.
