Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced MuleSoft Automation Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable integration and hyperautomation solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and enterprise
RPA technologies
. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with API-led connectivity,
MuleSoft RPA (or equivalent),
and
Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
, along with deep expertise in secure, resilient, and automated integration architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement APIs following API-led connectivity principles (System, Process, and Experience layers).
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs, including solution scoping and compatibility analysis.
  • Develop and deploy Mule 4 applications using advanced DataWeave 2.0 features such as custom types, reusable libraries, and robust error handling.
  • Implement API security using Anypoint API Manager, including OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and custom security policies.
  • Lead end-to-end automation development lifecycle, including PDD/SDD creation, bot development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance using MuleSoft RPA or equivalent platforms (UiPath / Automation Anywhere).
  • Integrate Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions with MuleSoft for high-volume document ingestion and automation workflows.
  • Design fault-tolerant and resilient Mule applications using retry strategies, scatter-gather, and reliable messaging (Anypoint MQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka).
  • Create, maintain, and version RAML/OpenAPI specifications and publish reusable assets to Anypoint Exchange.
  • Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting using Anypoint Monitoring and external tools such as Splunk or ELK.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Maven and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps for automated testing and deployments.
  • Implement global exception handling frameworks and ensure transactional integrity across distributed systems.
  • Act as a technical SME, advising business and architecture teams on feasibility and optimal design for hyperautomation initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall software development experience.
  • 3–4+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4 mandatory).
  • Strong expertise in API design, development, and security best practices.
  • Proven hands-on experience with R
    PA platforms (MuleSoft RPA, UiPath, or Automation Anywhere).
  • Solid experience
    integrating IDP solutions
    with enterprise integration workflows.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD, build automation, and DevOps practices for MuleSoft.
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (MCD-Level 1) or higher (mandatory/preferred as per client).

Good to Have

  • Experience deploying Mule applications across CloudHub, Runtime Fabric (RTF), or on-prem/customer-hosted environments.
  • Ability to develop custom MuleSoft connectors for unsupported third-party systems.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • MuleSoft Platform Architect or higher-level certifications.
