Vaya - Our First Product

Our first product is Vaya - where we are reimagining the astrology market, AI first. On our app, consumers speak with AI personas, based on actual human astrologers. We care deeply about the problems we get to work on, both from a technical perspective as well as for our users. Technically we have several problems to solve, the biggest being what we call "human intelligence" - AI today knows a little bit of astrology but doesn't have agency, opinions, EQ, different perspectives on the same knowledge and many more. Astrology is a huge belief system guiding hundreds of millions people, with important decision making and through uncertainty. We don't take our responsibility in this space for granted.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain high-quality, performant mobile applications using React Native.

  • Bridge React Native with native iOS and Android code to unlock advanced capabilities and performance.

  • Own projects end to end — from architecture and design to shipping and iteration.

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to craft seamless, delightful user experiences.

  • Continuously push the boundaries of what's possible on mobile, optimizing for responsiveness and fluidity.

Our Tech:

  • React Native and frontend with Tailwind CSS, utilizing hooks for the composability of functionality.

  • Native modules and platform-specific code (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Java).

  • Node (Bun), Postgres, Redis, Elixir in the backend.

  • Hosted on Google Cloud with k8s.

About You:

  • 3+ Years of experience building and shipping production-grade mobile applications.

  • Strong foundation in native iOS or Android development, with hands-on experience in Swift/Objective-C or Kotlin/Java.

  • Deep understanding of React Native, from the bridge to performance profiling to integrating custom native modules.

  • Comfortable working across the stack when needed, especially integrating APIs or optimizing app performance end-to-end.

  • Passionate about creating fluid, reliable, and visually polished mobile experiences.

  • Bonus: Familiarity with mobile performance tuning, accessibility, or mobile-specific AI/ML integrations.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced & high ownership environment.
