Test Fixture Hardware Engineer

Gatan, Inc. is the world's leading manufacturer of instrumentation and software used to enhance and extend the operation and performance of electron microscopes. Gatan products, which are fully compatible with nearly all electron microscope models and include the EDAX portfolio, cover the entire range of the research process—from specimen preparation and manipulation to imaging and analysis.
We are currently seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to develop test fixtures, for our imaging and analytical products. This individual will be responsible for working closely with the Software, Hardware and operations groups in United States, to provide the test fixtures which will be deployed for the manufacturing test. Some common hours with the US teams in California and Pennsylvania are required. This position will be based out of our Bangalore, India office.
The primary function of this role will be as a hardware engineer to develop test fixtures for complex, mixed signal systems. The incumbent will also be responsible for defining test software requirements and development, integration and interfacing with Gatan operations teams and CMs'.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience developing test systems for hardware testingExperience in hardware electrical systems design, including PCA designExperience with OrCAD or Altium toolsLinux, Python scripting and MATLAB experienceKnowledge in various test methodologies, including Flying Probe, In-circuit testing etc.WAN, LAN, Sockets, TCP/IP communicationsAbility to architect hardware and software interface for platform testingWorking knowledge of microprocessor SoC's and peripherals such as Ethernet, USB, PCIe, UARTS, I2C, SPI, Display, RS485Strong comfort level working in a lab environment using digital embedded system debug tools (ICE, logic analyzers, JTAG, Oscilloscopes)Excellent communication and document skillsDESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with UI for test systems a plusKnowledge of failure analysisKnowledge of image sensors and image processorsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BS in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university, MS degree is a plus5+ years of test system development experience-
