Job Description:

An Executive, Field Exploration (FEX) in coal mining is a leadership role focused on the technical and operational aspects of exploration and resource development within a specific field or region. This role typically involves managing teams, developing and implementing exploration strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the overall success of a mining company's exploration program. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Exploration Management:
    Oversee and manage the field exploration activities within a designated area, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.


  • Team Leadership:
    Lead and mentor a team of exploration professionals, including geologists, technicians, and other field staff.


  • Resource Development:
    Develop and implement exploration plans, including drilling programs, geological surveys, and other exploration techniques.


  • Data Management:
    Manage and analyze exploration data to identify potential coal resources and assess their feasibility.


  • Compliance and Safety:
    Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.


  • Collaboration:
    Work with other departments, such as mining operations, engineering, and finance, to support overall company objectives.


  • Technical Expertise:
    Maintain a high level of technical expertise in coal exploration, including geological principles, drilling techniques, and resource assessment methods.


  • Budget Management:
    Manage the exploration budget and ensure resources are used efficiently.


  • Reporting:
    Prepare and submit regular reports on exploration progress, including data analysis, resource assessments, and cost overviews.
