We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong understanding of both UK GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP accounting principles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis for our diverse client portfolio operating across the UK and US markets. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with both UK GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support business decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and properly reconciled.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage fixed assets, including depreciation calculations and asset register maintenance.
  • Compliance & Taxation (UK/US Specific):
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK and US accounting standards, tax regulations (e.g., VAT, Corporation Tax for UK; Federal/State income tax, sales tax for US), and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax computations and filings for both UK and US entities.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight:
  • Supervise and review accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage vendor and client relationships from an accounting perspective, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Process Improvement & System Utilization:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) effectively for all accounting functions.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of new accounting systems or modules.
  • Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., operations, sales) and external clients.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Ad-hoc Projects:
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Finance Manager/Head of Accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Mandatory: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA for UK; CPA for US) or equivalent certification. Candidates pursuing these certifications will also be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant focus on both UK and US accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in preparing financial statements under both UK GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Experience working with clients or entities based in the UK and US markets.
  • Prior experience in a KPO/BPO environment or a global accounting firm serving international clients is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency:
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
  • Understanding of relevant tax regulations in the UK and US.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and accurate in all accounting tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and client requirements.

Job Type: Full-time
