We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Architect to lead microservice migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will translate complex business and technical requirements into robust cloud-based architectures and provide technical leadership. The candidate is expected to have knowledge of on-premise infrastructure components; experience in on-premise to cloud migration.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of end-to-end cloud migration initiatives from on-premises to AWS. Create necessary documenation for microservice migration to cloud EKS.
  • Perform comprehensive cloud readiness assessments of existing infrastructure and applications, identifying dependencies, compatibility issues, and challenges.
  • Develop detailed migration roadmaps and define appropriate migration strategies based on workload analysis and business requirements.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to automate deployments and standardize environments.
  • Design and document scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud architectures.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, network, and application development teams to ensure a smooth and seamless migration process.
  • Provide technical leadership, oversight, and mentorship to engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement and monitor security controls and enforce compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Optimize cloud workloads post-migration for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience leading and executing cloud migration projects, preferably on the AWS platform.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with core AWS services, including but not limited to: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Knowledge of migration tools such as AWS Migration Hub, AWS MGN is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare) and enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, ECS, Fargate)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
