- Basic Function:
a) Biomass Procurement: Responsible for sourcing and procuring biomass directly from farmers within the assigned districts.
b) Weighbridge Operations: Oversee weighbridge operations to ensure accurate weighing of biomass during procurement.
c) Vehicle and Logistics Monitoring: Coordinate vehicle arrangements for transporting biomass from farms to collection points or the plant.
d) Raw Material Collection: Collect raw materials in accordance with directions provided by senior management and supervisors.
- Key Responsibility Areas (KRA):
a) Farmer Identification and Engagement: Identify potential farmers in the region and assist the Field Manager and Assistant Manager in pitching biomass procurement opportunities to them.
b) Harvest Season Support: Actively follow up with farmers during the harvest season, offering assistance with biomass collection and storage.
c) Equipment Management: Ensure the proper use of bailers provided to farmers and confirm that they are returned in good condition.
d) Transportation Coordination: Liaise with local transportation providers to ensure timely and efficient transportation of biomass from farms to designated collection yards or storage areas.
e) Quality Control: Ensure that the biomass procured meets the procurement quality standards set by the company (PRESPL).
f) Daily Reporting: Provide daily reports on procurement activities, transportation status, and any issues related to the quality or logistics of biomass.
g) Farmer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers to ensure continued cooperation and successful biomass collection.
h) Local Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities are in line with local regulations and any company-specific guidelines.
- Competencies and Skills:
a) Procurement and Sourcing: Strong understanding of biomass types and the procurement process from farmers, including seasonal and local agricultural cycles.
b) Logistics and Coordination: Ability to manage transportation and logistics operations for efficient biomass collection and delivery.
c) Farmer Relationship Management: Skilled at building rapport with local farmers, understanding their needs, and ensuring a smooth procurement process.
d) Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail when managing procurement quality standards, equipment, and records.
e) Team Collaboration: Ability to work under the direction of senior management and collaborate effectively with other team members.
- Skills:
a) Communication: Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with farmers, transporters, and team members.
b) Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of biomass quality parameters and procurement processes.
c) Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly resolve logistical challenges and ensure timely biomass collection.
