Position Summary
We are seeking a growth-focused Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead and scale our steel trading business. The CEO will be responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring profitability, strengthening supply chains, expanding market presence, and building high-performance teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a strong track record of business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Growth & Strategy
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion across steel and allied products.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Financial & P&L Management
- Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
- Improve margins, implement credit control, and optimize working capital.
- Supply Chain & Vendor Management
- Strengthen relationships with suppliers, mills, and other key partners for improved procurement efficiency.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to optimize operations.
- Market Expansion & Sales Leadership
- Build and expand dealer, customer, and key account networks.
- Identify new product lines and explore expansion into new geographies.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop teams across sales, operations, finance, and logistics.
- Build a high-performance culture with clear goals, accountability, and training initiatives.
- Process & Systems Implementation
- Implement strong operational processes, CRM systems, and data-driven reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the board and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder & Client Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Represent the organization in business forums, industry events, and meetings.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 10–20 years of leadership experience, preferably in steel, building materials, or distribution. Strong leaders from other industries with a proven growth track record will also be considered.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Proven track record in scaling businesses and leading high-performance teams
- Strong negotiation, execution, and process-oriented mindset
- Strategic planning, decision-making, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to drive change, build teams, and achieve business objectives
- Education: Relevant professional qualifications or business management credentials will be an advantage.
