Job Summary

We are seeking a Cisco IPT L2 Engineer to provide advanced operational support and administration of Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of CUCM, Unity Connection, voice gateways, and associated VoIP technologies. This role includes resolving escalated issues, implementing changes, and supporting voice-related projects and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 operational support for Cisco IPT systems (CUCM, Unity Connection, UCCX, IM&P).

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex voice issues related to call drops, quality issues, SIP trunking, registration failures, and call routing.

• Administer and manage dial plans, partitions, CSS, route patterns, translation patterns, and hunt groups.

• Support and maintain Cisco Voice Gateways (CUBE, MGCP, PRI, FXO/FXS).

• Handle MACD activities with minimal supervision, including bulk provisioning.

• Analyze call detail records (CDRs) and SIP debug/traces for troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with network and application teams for integrations with CRM, recording systems, Webex, and Teams.

• Perform patching, upgrades, and backups of UC systems.

• Monitor system health and performance, responding to alerts and proactively identifying potential issues.

• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, SOPs, and support procedures.

• Act as a point of escalation for the L1 support team and guide them as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-6 years of experience in managing Cisco Unified Communications environments.

• Proficient in CUCM, Unity, and Cisco Voice Gateways.

• Strong understanding of SIP, H.323, MGCP, SCCP, and call flow logic.

• Hands-on experience in analyzing logs, using tools like RTMT, Wireshark, and debug commands on CUBE/ISR.

• Knowledge of QoS, VLAN tagging, and voice traffic prioritization.

• Familiarity with high availability features, SRST, and CUCM clustering.

• Experience working in environments following ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).
