About the Company:

We are a group of innovation-driven startups — V-ROBOTICS, Busparrot, and Bharathiya Innovators Foundation — engaged in developing advanced robotics, IoT, AI, and public transport information systems. With multiple granted and filed patents, several trademarks, and ongoing R&D projects, we are seeking a dynamic professional to oversee our intellectual property, technology compliance, and R&D operations.

Role Overview:

The Intellectual Property & R&D Operations Officer will be responsible for managing and protecting the company's intellectual assets (patents, trademarks, copyrights), ensuring legal and regulatory compliance (GST, ITR, MCA filings), and coordinating R&D operations to ensure innovation outcomes are efficiently translated into protectable IP and market-ready products.

Key Responsibilities:A. Intellectual Property Management

  • Maintain and update the company's patent and trademark portfolios (filed, granted, and pending).
  • Coordinate with patent attorneys, IP offices, and innovation teams for new filings and renewals.
  • Draft and review provisional and complete patent documents in coordination with inventors.
  • Monitor infringement risks and ensure proper use of company-owned IP.
  • Maintain IP documentation, filing schedules, and renewal deadlines.

B. Legal & Compliance

  • Handle all statutory filings – GST returns, ITR, MCA, and ROC compliance for all group entities.
  • Liaise with chartered accountants, company secretaries, and legal consultants for compliance and documentation.
  • Manage agreements, NDAs, MoUs, vendor and client contracts, and ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, startup India norms, and DPIIT documentation.

C. R&D Operations Management

  • Coordinate day-to-day R&D activities across robotics, AI, and IoT projects.
  • Maintain project documentation, progress reports, and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Support funding, grant, and incubation applications related to innovation and IP.
  • Work with technical teams to translate innovations into patentable technologies.
  • Track R&D expenses and ensure compliance with R&D tax incentives and records.

D. Strategic & Administrative

  • Maintain a technology and patent roadmap aligned with the company's business strategy.
  • Support senior management in preparing investor and compliance reports.
  • Manage internal knowledge bases and R&D documentation systems.
  • Assist in preparing submissions for innovation awards, exhibitions, and government programs.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Law, or Management (preferred domains: Electronics, Mechanical, Robotics, AI, or IP Law).
  • 2–5 years of experience in R&D coordination, IP management, or legal compliance.
  • Knowledge of Indian patent and trademark laws, GST, ITR, and MCA compliance.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (technical + legal + finance).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple domains simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with patent drafting, innovation disclosure forms, or IP analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with MSME, DPIIT, Startup India, and funding documentation.
  • Basic understanding of financial compliance tools (Tally, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks).
  • Experience coordinating with incubators, research institutes, or industry bodies.
