Enterprise Software Engineer – II

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with engineering, product management, and quality teams to help project progress and ensure alignment with software excellence metrics, quality goals, and maturity standards.

2. Software Maturity & KPIs: Participate in software maturity initiatives, tracking KPIs such as defect density, technical debt, and code quality. Works on frameworks to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability across the software lifecycle.

3. DevOps Integration: Understand DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automating testing, and deployment processes and help enhance efficiency and system reliability.

4. Optimizing Tools & Processes: Implements optimization of software tools and development processes, use the most effective solutions for code analysis, automation, and collaboration.

5. Technical Reviews: Conduct critical reviews of software components to ensure best practices, code quality, and adherence to industry standards. Guide individuals in optimizing development cycles and improving testing strategies.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Patient Safety: Ensure software meets regulatory requirements and patient safety standards by actively adopting initiatives like Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) and Quality Improvement Plans.

7. Leveraging Reusable Solutions: Helps build reusable software components and frameworks across teams, enhancing efficiency and consistency while reducing development time.

8. Continuous Improvement: Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement, takes part in initiatives to enhance software quality, safety, and user experience. Implements process improvements through regular assessments and industry benchmarking.

9. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders on progress, software maturity, and quality metrics, providing strategic recommendations for process improvements and alignment with business objectives.
 

Required Knowledge and Experience
(Must Have)

• B-Tech/BE in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field with 4+ years of experience in Software and Systems Engineering, OR
• ME/M-Tech with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience working on development and delivery of enterprise-scale software systems with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Expertise in implementing software quality metrics and adherence to best practices in software development and testing.
• Good understanding of software engineering processes, including agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working on software process improvement initiatives, leveraging data to enhance software development efficiency and product quality.
• Hands-on experience with Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) principles, driving their integration into the software product lifecycle.

Good to Have

• Preferrable experience working with cloud-native or distributed systems, particularly in optimizing their reliability and scalability.
• Preferrable hands-on experience with software maturity models, such as CMMI, and their application in driving software excellence and continuous improvement.
• Preferrable Familiarity with patient safety standards and industry regulations such as ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 for safety-critical systems, particularly in healthcare or medical device industries.
• Preferrable experience in developing software systems for regulated industries such as healthcare, aerospace, or automotive, where safety and quality are critical.
• Preferrable expertise in statistical process control, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to drive quality improvement initiatives.
