Organizational Overview
The role will reside in the Resilience & Safety team, part of the Enterprise Services organization within the Technology and Operations group at BlackRock.
Technology and Operations is the backbone for BlackRock's client and investment lifecycle. The group ensures that the firm's operations are consistent and efficient across all investment products, client channels and geographies, helping to deliver superior client experience and drive scalability. Technology and Operations is driven by a global network of Operating Centers of Excellence, which centralize knowledge and equip support teams with the data and timely information needed to innovate and deliver on behalf of internal stakeholders and clients.
Enterprise Services contributes to the continued success of BlackRock through strategic solutions and business services that provide each employee with an efficient, resilient, safe and high-performance workplace experience. Enterprise Services is comprised of four key functions – Resilience & Safety, Real Estate Management, Workplace Experience, and Executive Operations & Corporate Security.
The Resilience & Safety team has responsibility for protecting the firm's employees and visitors, reputation, physical and information assets, and operations from disruptive events so BlackRock can continue to meet the needs of its clients. The teams brings together operational resilience with business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management, to ensure the resilience of BlackRock by working to prevent, adapt, respond to, recover, and learn from operational disruptions.
Position Purpose
The role will support maintaining the Enterprise Resilience framework globally to meet both business, client and regulatory expectations.
Work with Resilience team, risk teams, and business collaborators to coordinate and implement global resilience program.
The role will collaborate with the Enterprise Resilience team lead for India with dotted line collaboration with the deputy global head of Resilience. The role will be based in Gurgaon.
The successful candidate for this position will be able to deliver exceptional performance in a professional, innovative, scalable, and pragmatic manner.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Be part of the team delivering and embedding the resilience framework and strategy across the firm.
- Support the maintenance of program documentation including policies, standards and procedures.
- Undertake quality assurance reviews of business process and business continuity plan documentation including checking for consistency, accuracy and completeness.
- Provide written and verbal feedback to business teams on the outcome of quality assurance reviews.
- Partner with business teams to ensure documentation is updated accordingly.
- Help ensure that program documentation meets global regulatory, business and client expectations.
- Maintain a library of responses to client questions on Resilience topics that can be used to support client requests throughout their engagement lifecycle (e.g. at RFP, regular due diligence).
- Help perform risk and resiliency assessments of the firm's critical 3rd parties as part of an onboarding and ongoing due diligence and oversight program.
- Support the creation and delivery of training, education and awareness offerings to business teams on resilience topics and usage of Resilience systems.
- Help support program change caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating responses to written client requests for information about the firm's resilience programs.
- Provide support for procurement, client business and contracting teams in the review and negotiation of 3rd party and client contracts.
- Assist in the creation of client presentation materials to be delivered either in writing or in person on the resilience program.
- Support the maintenance of key program reporting materials for Boards and other internal governance groups.
- Assist in drafting reports relating to key program deliverables such as for resilience exercises and tests.
- Monitor incidents and operating events relating to resilience, and help escalate, report and document the firm's response as required.
- Help identify areas to mature in the program to increase the firm's resilience capabilities, assisting the team globally and business functions in identifying and remediating gaps in their resilience understanding and capabilities.
- Assist in the planning and execution of resilience projects and initiatives as required.
- Help ensure that any resilience issues and vulnerabilities are appropriately documented, understood and tracked.
- Support the program by providing administrative support services to global resilience team members as required e.g. arranging meetings, minute taking, audit support.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or higher degree required, ideally in English.
- 1- 4 years experience in a corporate environment
- Experience or an interest in Resilience subjects such as business continuity, operational resilience, disaster recovery, cyber security a plus.
Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Excellent data visualization / presentation design skills.
- Excellent data analytics skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Works well in a matrix team environment, with a flexible and collaborative approach.
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Availability to work off-hours (e.g. early / late) to provide global responsibilities required.
