Job Title: Performance Test Lead

Type: Contract to Hire (4-month contract)

Mode: Full-Time, Onsite

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore

Work Hours: 10:00 AM 7:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

Salary Range: 60,000 to 1,00,000 per month

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Performance Test Lead to drive performance engineering efforts across our applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be proficient in industry-standard performance testing tools, able to analyze complex systems, and translate findings into actionable insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet both technical and business performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute performance test strategies across projects.
  • Script realistic load/user flows using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad, k6, or Blazemeter.
  • Implement correlation, parameterization, and test data management best practices.
  • Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor and analyze performance using APM tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, Grafana + Prometheus/InfluxDB.
  • Drill down into performance issues using profiling/debugging tools and analyze system-level metrics (CPU, memory, disk I/O, GC activity, thread states, DB connections).
  • Identify performance bottlenecks across application code, database, infrastructure, or network layers.
  • Understand and apply cloud scaling patterns on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Define baselines, KPIs, SLAs, and success criteria.
  • Forecast performance with growth in users, data, and transaction volumes.
  • Mentor and guide junior performance testers, ensuring high standards in scripting and reporting.
  • Provide data-driven insights, risk assessments, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, DBAs, and business analysts.
  • Ensure consistency and best practices across all performance testing projects.
  • Own the full cycle: Planning Execution Reporting Tuning Re-testing.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in performance testing and engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least 2 performance testing tools.
  • Deep understanding of APMs and performance tuning methodologies.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and scaling strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
