Core WordPress Skills

  • Strong knowledge of WordPress theme customization (using child themes, page builders, or custom coding).
  • Experience with custom post types (CPTs) and custom taxonomies (for members, certifications, exams).
  • Knowledge of WordPress user roles & capabilities (to implement Admin, Member, Examiner, etc.).
  • Ability to create/edit templates using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Plugin Development & Customization

  • Ability to develop custom plugins (e.g., for credit-based progression, certificate generation, QR codes).
  • Experience with popular plugins:
  • Membership & Subscriptions: MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, WooCommerce Subscriptions.
  • Learning/Exam Management: LearnDash, Tutor LMS, or custom quiz plugins.
  • Certificate Generation: Certificate Builder plugins (e.g., LearnDash Certificates, WP Certificate).
  • QR Code Integration: QR code generator plugins or custom PHP integration.
  • Understanding of shortcodes, hooks, and filters to extend plugin functionalities.

Database & Backend Handling

  • Experience with WordPress database (MySQL) for managing profiles, credits, and certifications.
  • Familiarity with custom tables in WordPress for exam results, credit tracking, and logs.
  • Ability to implement secure APIs (REST API/GraphQL) for profile sharing and certificate verification.

Security & Performance

  • Knowledge of WordPress security best practices (SSL, JWT or OAuth authentication, 2FA).
  • Role-based access for Admin, Examiner, Candidate.
  • Experience with backup & audit logging plugins (e.g., WP Activity Log).
  • Familiarity with performance optimization (caching, load handling).

Other Essential Skills

  • Payment Gateway Integration (Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal with WooCommerce).
  • Profile Management (like ) – via custom fields (ACF – Advanced Custom Fields) or BuddyPress/Ultimate Member plugin.
  • Temporary Profile Sharing (via expiring links plugins or custom development).
  • Digital Certificates with QR Codes – auto-generation on exam success.
  • Reports & Analytics – experience with reporting plugins or integration with Google Data Studio/Metabase.
  • Familiarity with Git and basic cloud hosting (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean, or cPanel servers).
