Senior Checker

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Steel Detail Checker with project management experience to oversee checking activities and manage project workflows. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in structural steel detailing, with a proven ability to lead teams, ensure quality, and coordinate effectively with clients and internal teams. Experience in Australian Standards will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Check Tekla Structures models, GA drawings, shop drawings, and erection drawings for accuracy.
• Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and quality benchmarks are met.
• Review and ensure compliance with AISC, CISC, BS, and Australian Standards (added advantage).
• Identify and resolve issues related to dimensions, welds, bolts, part marks, material mismatches, and coordination.
• Coordinate with project leads, detailers, and clients to address design clarifications and RFIs.
• Maintain and enforce QA/QC processes to minimize revisions and errors.
• Train and guide junior checkers and detailers where required.
• Prepare project progress reports and manage client communications.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in structural steel detailing and checking.
• Strong background in Tekla Structures (mandatory).
• Proven project management experience in handling international projects.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS/NZS) is an added advantage.
• Excellent understanding of fabrication, welding, and erection practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
