Terms of Reference (TOR)Councilon Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), New Delhi Research Intern -Technology Futures AtCEEW, we build careers in public policy ● We offer strong visionary leadership –with emphasis on research and impact at scale● We actively promote leadership byinitiative● We celebrate talent and ambition● You will be surrounded by smart peoplewho will challenge you and help you grow● You will learn faster than your peers inother organisations● Curiosity and irreverence, as well as responsibility,come together at CEEW● We provide a safe space for all● At CEEW, your life is your example forothers Designationoffered: Research InternTeam/ Focus area: Technology Futures/ Value addition in Critical and StrategicMineralsReporting to: Research AnalystLocation: New Delhi, IndiaDuration: 3 months Project Title - Identifying opportunities for India to increase domestic valueaddition in the critical mineral value chain for exploration, mining, andprocessing of minerals.ResponsibilitiesResearch and analysis· Conduct technology -based research onexisting and emerging mineral exploration, mining, and processing technologiesand methods.· Examine the costs ofmineral exploration, mining, and processing.· Compile information on the infrastructure andskills required for efficient mineral extraction and processing. · Gather data on the electricity (powerrequirements) for mining and processing operations.· Analysing existing literature, reports, and datafrom publicly available sources such as the Indian Bureau of Mines, GeologicalSurveys of various countries such as the GSI, USGS, and BGS, and Think Tanks toextract valuable insights that highlight policy implications of identifiedgaps/ promising areas related to the supply chain dynamics of these minerals.Software and Tools Required:Fundamental knowledge and experience with basic computer software, includingMicrosoft 365.Programme Assistance· Assist with programme structuring and projectimplementation, including preparing presentations, factsheets and othercommunication material.· Contribute to reports and other research productsas part of the research team.· Accompany team members for meetings with otherstakeholders; prepare minutes of the meetings and assist with relevantfollow -up.· Assist in organising webinars, workshops androundtables as part of the team's outreach activities.SelectionCriteria Qualification Recentlypassed or currently pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree with specialisationin Metallurgy/ Mining/ Chemical Engineering or related programmes. Candidatesin other fields such as pure science, public policy, or related fields with 0 –1 year of relevant research experience may also be considered. Compensation Competitivecompensation – commensurate to the experience and matching the best ofstandards adopted by the industry or other similar organisations for similarroles.
